His Dark Materials

This is a trilogy by Phillip Pullman and it is truley awesome.
One of the best things I have EVER read.

I've copied a plot synopsis from amazon of the first book (Northern Lights) to give you a taster.

"In this first part of the "Dark Materials" trilogy, Lyra's friend Roger disappears. She and her daemon, Pantalaimon, determine to find him. Their quest leads them to the bleak splendour of the North where a team of scientists are conducting unspeakably horrible experiments."

Norther Lights is coming to the silver screen this christmas (i think) under the title The Golden Compass (i think)

I know for a fact that it isn't going to be called Northern Lights.

Yeah it's called the golden compass.

I was dissapointed when I saw the trailer. Lyra looked all wrong. And so did Pan.

Oh well. I might not go and see the film because I reckon it'll ruin the book for me. I'm just gonna read the book again
